Infrastructure

Memphis International Airport
Located less than 30 minutes north of Tate County via I-55, the Memphis International Airport provides cargo and passenger services, as well as general aviation services. Major carriers include American, Southwest, United, Air Canada, Allegiant, Frontier and Delta Airlines.
Other Airports
The Metro Park Airport located in Olive Branch is the second-busiest airport in the State of Mississippi and is only 35 minutes away from Tate County. The airport has a 6,000-foot paved and lighted runway, offers charter service, and just added a new air traffic control tower. Panola County Airport, located in Batesville, is only 10 to 15 minutes from Tate County and is used for general aviation. It is owned and operated by Panola County.
Cargo Transportation
Memphis is the number one cargo hub in the world – it is home to 7 cargo airlines, including the FedEx Super Hub, a major UPS hub, Air Transport International, and an RPS sort facility. Drop-off shipments can be made to FedEx as late as 11 pm for next-day shipping.
Rail
Tate County is served by Grenada Railway, which goes directly through Senatobia and Coldwater. It is operated by RailUSA, a division of International Rail Partners, it was previously operated prior to 2018 by Iowa Pacific Railway. The entire line is undergoing a rehabilitation project with the goal of upgrade the entire track to Class 3 (40 MPH) operating standards and the industry standard 286,000 lbs. bridge capacity by mid-2019. The $15.05 million project is being supported with $7.54 million Infrastructure for Rebuilding America (“INFRA”) Grant, a $4 Million load from the state of Mississippi along with RailUSA investing the required matching funds.
