Anna Cardona

Appointed as Executive Director of the Tate County Economic Development Foundation

Senatobia MS – The winds of change are sweeping through Tate County as the Board of Directors of the Tate County Economic Development Foundation (EDF) announce the appointment of Anna Cardona as its new Executive Director. Cardona’s selection marks the culmination of an extensive national search, and her arrival signals a renewed focus on growth, innovation, and community development in Tate County.

Cardona brings a wealth of experience to the role, having recently served at the Economic Development Growth Engine (EDGE) for Memphis and Shelby County, where she played a pivotal role in driving business expansion and investment. Her track record of success in economic development extends further back to her tenure as the Economic Development Business Director for the Greater Memphis Chamber of Commerce, and as the Marketing Director for Simon Property Group. A proud alumna of the University of Memphis, Cardona’s career has been defined by her commitment to fostering economic vitality and creating opportunities for businesses and communities alike.

Bailey Hunt, President of the Tate County EDF said, “We are extremely excited to bring Anna on board. She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience that will help position us for current and future success. I am proud to have her join our team and look forward to what lies ahead.”  

Cardona, who is eager to begin her new role, expressed her enthusiasm for the opportunities that lie ahead. “I am deeply honored to join the Tate County EDF and to be part of such a dynamic and welcoming community,” she said. “Tate County has incredible potential, and I am committed to working with local leaders, businesses, and residents to create a thriving economy that benefits everyone.”  

As Tate County stands on the cusp of a new era, local officials and stakeholders are also expressing their optimism about what the future holds under Cardona’s leadership.

President of Northwest Mississippi Community College, Dr. Michael Heindl, stated, “Mrs. Cardona is the perfect leader to spearhead economic development efforts at a critical time in the life of our community. At Northwest we are particularly excited to be working with her and to be able to continue to be at the table to help existing industries in the community while also helping bring new business and industry into the area.”

Tony Sandridge, President of the Tate County Board of Supervisors said, “Tate County Board of Supervisors would like to welcome Mrs. Anna Cardona to the Tate County Family.
